Position Overview

Position: Regional Field Service Manager
Location: Regional Travel-Based (Multi-State)

Rust Automation & Controls is seeking a motivated Regional Field Service Manager to support customers across a multi-state territory. This hands-on, field-based role focuses on instrumentation support, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair in a variety of industrial environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical aptitude, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

This position requires frequent regional travel and the ability to work independently while representing Rust Automation & Controls at customer sites.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily travel to support a diverse customer base
  • Demonstrate strong technical aptitude in instrumentation and industrial environments
  • Successfully complete an apprenticeship instrumentation program
  • Adapt to varying industrial environment requirements
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair
  • Travel regionally within the following states: UT, CA, CO, WY, NV, ID, MT, ND, HI

Job Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
  • Associate Degree in a technical field (preferred)
  • Field experience (preferred)
  • Instrumentation training (preferred)
  • Calibration and/or metrology experience (preferred)
  • Safety credentials (preferred)

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrates basic electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Knowledge of instrumentation systems (preferred)
  • Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and electronic testing equipment
  • Strong computer skills and professional communication abilities
  • Ability to multitask across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Demonstrates punctuality, accountability, and ownership of responsibilities
  • Curiosity and a strong desire to learn
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly to meet customer needs
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
