About This Role:

The Senior Contract Specialist (IT, Network & Cloud) plays a pivotal role as the bridge between technical requirements and legal/financial compliance. In this position, you will oversee complex procurement, SLA negotiations, and licensing models tailored to modern data centers, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software. Your expertise will directly impact company goals by optimizing cloud spending, mitigating vendor risk, and building a scalable procurement framework across our IT and Cloud footprint.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong grasp of SaaS, IaaS, and modern virtualization technologies, alongside a proven track record of contract lifecycle management. You thrive in a dynamic environment, excel at translating technical jargon into clear business terms, and know how to partner with cross-functional technical, legal, and financial leaders to protect company interests.

This role will be 100% on-site at our Denver, Cherry Creek office.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Contract Negotiation & Drafting: Define and negotiate complex Service Level Agreements (SLAs), focusing on critical uptime metrics, latency, and mean time to repair (MTTR).

  • Licensing & Model Transitions: Manage the transition from legacy perpetual licenses to subscription-based cloud models across platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP.

  • Data Privacy & Compliance: Ensure all vendor agreements adhere to GDPR, CCPA, SOC2, and internal security standards in coordination with the CISO.

  • Financial & Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud consumption to eliminate unused licenses or inactive instances, driving cost savings across the organization.

  • Lifecycle & Renewal Management: Oversee contract timelines and co-terminous renewal structures to maximize bargaining power and streamline renewals.

  • Dispute Resolution & Vendor Oversight: Enforce SLA compliance and negotiate credit claims when vendors fail to meet performance and uptime commitments.

  • Asset & Security Tracking: Work with cross-functional teams to maintain an accurate inventory of physical hardware assets (routers, switches, servers) and software licenses.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of dedicated experience in IT procurement, technology vendor management, or legal contract administration.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of cloud hierarchy (Public vs. Private), virtualization, and network security concepts.

  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms and enterprise ERP tools like SAP or Oracle.

  • Legal & Compliance Acumen: Solid understanding of Intellectual Property (IP) rights, liability limitations, and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts from engineering teams into clear, business-driven terms for executives.

Bonus Points:

  • Certified Professional Contract Manager (CCCM) certification.

  • Foundational cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).

  • Experience managing data center hardware procurement alongside cloud software contracts.
