We are seeking a Senior Information Security Specialist to join our dynamic team, reporting directly to the Director of Information Security. In this critical role, you will be responsible for daily firewall operations and managing complex firewall-related incidents that impact our global operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, document, and implement firewall opening requests
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external clients regarding firewall-related matters
  • Troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated firewall-related incidents
  • Perform firewall upgrades including comprehensive pre- and post-implementation checks
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams on firewall requests, incidents, and upgrades
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and represent firewall changes
  • Analyze security alerts and submit incident tickets as needed
  • Follow established processes to complete firewall requests within defined SLAs
  • Support 24/7 on-call rotation as required
  • Utilize knowledge base for threat identification and provide mitigation plans

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant information security experience
  • Strong understanding of OSI layers and network security technologies
  • Expertise with firewall hardware products: Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint
  • Proficiency with Firewall Management products: Panorama, FortiManager, Checkpoint Management Server
  • Solid understanding of VPN concepts (Site-to-Site IPSec VPN, SSL Remote VPN)
  • Basic knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies
  • Understanding of attack methodologies including scans, man-in-the-middle, sniffing, DoS attacks, and malicious activities (worms, Trojans, viruses)
  • Experience with IT Operations tools such as ITSM and Jira
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes
  • Knowledge of Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk
  • Familiarity with firewall OS upgrade processes for different vendors (standalone and High Availability configurations)
  • Experience with firewall analyzer tools (Skybox, AlgoSec, etc.) for security policy and configuration analysis
  • Network monitoring tool experience (e.g., NNMi)
  • Ability to learn new technologies, including Cloud technologies and Terraform deployments

This position will be located in Denver, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $107,000 - $198,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
