JOB SUMMARY 
The Senior Quality Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for directing and overseeing the quality control programs across the asphalt plants within the Denver market. This individual ensures that all products meet or exceed Martin Marietta’s rigorous internal standards, as well as external customer and regulatory specifications (CDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO). 
As a champion of the "Guardian Angel" safety culture, the Senior Quality Manager integrates safety into every quality process, manages a team of field technicians and lab personnel, and serves as the technical bridge between operations, sales, and the customer. 
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Develop and implement annual quality control objectives that align with Divisional and Corporate goals. 
  • Analyze data trends and "Cost of Quality" (COQ) records to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction. 
  • Act as the primary technical consultant for sales and operations teams, providing mix design optimization and product application expertise. 
  • Ensure full compliance with local radioactive material licenses. 
  • Oversee the collection, testing, and logging of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure all data is accurately entered into StonemontQC in a timely manner. 
  • Conduct regular "self-led" inspections of plants and laboratories to ensure adherence to SOPs. 
  • Supervise daily activities of Quality Supervisors and Field Technicians, including scheduling, hiring, and performance evaluations. 
  • Lead the onboarding and technical training of staff to ensure certifications are current and compliant with industry regulations. 
  • Foster a collaborative environment by working cross-functionally with Plant Managers, Project Managers, and Sales Estimators. 
  • Meet with customers and specifying entities to maintain relationships and stay updated on industry standard changes. 
  • Lead the investigation of customer complaints and quality events. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions to prevent recurrence. 
  • Review project plans and specifications post-bid to provide required data for material submittals and attend pre-pave/pre-con meetings. 
  • Enforce "Safety First" weekly meetings. 
  • Ensure that laboratory and field testing activities adhere to environmental permits regarding dust control, spill prevention, and waste disposal. 
  • Perform other related tasks assigned; ability to work long hours,weekendsand/or nights.  
QUALIFICATIONS 
Education 
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.Professional Engineer in Colorado, preferred 
CAPA (A, B, C, E) certification isrequired. 
RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) 
Work Experience 
10+ years in Quality within Construction or Heavy Building Materials. 
5+ years in Quality Leadership is preferred; HMA AMRL accreditation preferred.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS 
Physical Requirements 
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for equipment servicing. 
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders. 
You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet. 
Working Conditions 
All duties require outside assignmentsand requireperiods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet,dryand dusty.Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.  
 
COMPENSATION
The hiring range for this position is $150,000 -$170,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program. Bonuses awarded under this program are determined based on the performance of the organization and the employee.
