Senior Staff Software Engineer (Western Union, LLC, Denver, CO)
Multiple positions available. Assess business needs to develop creative and effective solutions in line with emerging technology standards to create the best money transfer experience. Ensure high quality customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting and continuous development. Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software systems throughout all phases of the software development process. Design and build hybrid mobile applications for extremely high traffic and transaction volumes. Serve as subject matter expert in company’s product domain, and in compliance, legal, cyber security, privacy, and technical knowledge of internal systems and services. Perform complex integration for developing and delivering solutions for web and mobile based applications using technology including ReactJS, React Native, AngularJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Generate automatic application deployable package/build using Continuous Integration (CI) platform Jenkins, Cloud bees and provide it to QA (Quality Assurance) team via Continuous Delivery (CD) platform Spinnaker so that QA team has a regular package/build to test without manual dependency on development team. Attend company trainings on technical and functional knowledge related to cyber security, culture of ethics and global compliance education, workplace ethics, anti-corruption policies, and Cloud Pillar Technologies. Interface and collaborate with other engineers in geographically distributed development centers. Apply Agile Methodology daily and follow Definition of Done (DOD) process for better quality by maintaining 80% of unit test coverage and 70% integration coverage. Develop technical & domain expertise and apply to solving product challenges. Perform thorough code reviews. Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll out applications with cross-functional impacts. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to Western Union LLC at 7001 E Belleview Ave., Denver, CO 80237. Salary: $164,112 to $236,176 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or equivalent, position utilizing computer science fundamentals.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or equivalent, position utilizing computer science fundamentals.
Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience utilizing modern front-end technologies including JavaScript frameworks (including ReactJS, AngularJS, React Native, and TypeScript), programming skills (including HTML5 and CSS), and implementing standard design patterns; 5 years of professional experience developing web applications and hybrid mobile apps and supporting multiple platforms (including iOS and Android); 5 years of professional experience assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards; 5 years of professional experience performing unit testing and utilizing mocking frameworks to ensure code quality and maintainability; 5 years of professional experience driving engineering excellence Agile Development Methodologies with Test Drive Development (TDD), code reviews and CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery); 5 years of professional experience building high-performance and large-scale real-time systems that scale to hundreds of thousands of transactions per day; 4 years of professional experience utilizing data structures, algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D); 4 years of professional experience utilizing HTTPS, JSON, and NodeJS; and 4 years of professional experience creating and consuming GraphQL, RESTful based web services, and SOAP based web services.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $164,112 - $236,176 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
