You will lead a team responsible for Commercial products design and development in collaboration with business partners. You will research solutions that inform recommended actions to improve profitability, growth and customer experience in support of annual profit and growth plans. In this role, you'll align new products, enhancements and initiatives to the Commercial top and bottom line short-term and long-term goals. You will create insights from intelligence about customers, market and competitors for problem solving and proactively identifying product solutions aligned to product strategy.

You will report to a director, product.

Position Compensation Range:

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going developmentĀ 

  • Lead with influence and expertise. Actively contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices

  • P&L AccountabilityĀ for the small commercial west region products inclusive of Commercial Multi-Peril, Commercial Auto, Work Comp and Commercial Umbrella lines of business within assigned region

  • Lead with a continuous improvement approach and recommend actions to improveĀ small commercialĀ premium volume growth and profitabilityĀ within assigned region

  • Oversee product research and insights gathering and analysis including competitive intelligence, customer/stakeholderĀ empathy, developingĀ solutions for in-market small commercial products

  • LeadĀ WestĀ Regional Product and Market Management teamĀ to execute onĀ pricing opportunities to enhance pricing and underwriting segmentation

  • Manage and effectively sets the outcomes of theĀ regionalĀ Commercial productĀ strategicĀ roadmap, defining what ā€œgoodā€ looks like and prioritize accordingly

  • Create a cross-functional leadership environment, aligning actuarial, product, underwriting,Ā sales,Ā claims, marketing andĀ legal/compliance

  • Achieve the profit and growth plan for their markets by management and oversight of regional product managers to execute state strategy and related accountabilities in each market

  • Lead the development and execution of small commercial regional productĀ StrategyĀ at aĀ Market/state level)

  • Lead market decisions on Product GuidesĀ within assigned region

  • Manage portfolio view of CAT/Capital EfficiencyĀ Mgmt.Ā within assigned region

  • Lead team of Regional Product Managers developingĀ region-specificĀ productĀ communicationsĀ withinĀ assignedĀ market

  • Oversee and manage P&G Planning as a portfolio of statesĀ within assigned region

  • Lead the development and execution of theĀ Rate Plan & Filing Schedule by state/LOBĀ within assigned region

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting facts and data, including financial information, in a way that can lead to actionable conclusions

  • Demonstrated experience communicating to a variety of audiences to review findings, arguments, options, risks, benefits, and other issues in a frame of reference that the audience can understand; translate technical detail into business outcomes

  • Demonstrated experience in driving to results in one or more of the following areas: sales, product lines, claims, or other core business functions

  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading large complex projects or programs with a cross-divisional impact toward intended results

  • Demonstrated effective experience leading people or projects

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis and processes

  • Demonstrated experience developing insurance product strategies

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in product development and/or management with a focus on profit and loss

  • Solid knowledge of market research and marketplace and regulatory trendsĀ 

Additional Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid knowledge of Commercial P&C productĀ management preferably within small commercial and leading regional product management teams.Ā 

  • Strong knowledge of pricing & UW segmentationĀ to achieve P&G plan.Ā 

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25%.

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from either Madison, WI; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Hopkins, MN or St Joseph, MO. Madison is preferred.
