Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Colorado - Lakewood, CO 80215Position Type: InternshipEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $27.00 - $27.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: Day Transmission Line Engineering Intern   About the Position As a Transmission Line Engineering Intern in the Transmission Group, you will be engaged to assist engineers performing the design of Overhead and Underground electric power lines for  utilities, renewables, industrial, and commercial clients. Hourly Rate: $27.00/hour The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. Essential Responsibilities Learn PLS-CADD basics and perform design analysis of transmission line(s). Assist in performing detailed transmission design including line siting/alignment, plan and profiles, conductor selection, conductor sagging, line configurations, framing, and foundation designs. Learn and understand applicable Codes, NEI and industry standards. Help prepare design products including bills of material, plan and profiles, structure drawings, assembly and framing details drawings, foundation details, staking sheets, conductor stringing tables, and permitting exhibits. Review transmission line drawings requirements. Complete hand and computer-based calculations and PLS-CADD Models. Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects, including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies. Other duties as assigned. Must Have Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred. Experience: Relevant coursework or projects in civil engineering or field experience is a plus. Knowledge of PLS-CADD, L-Pile, MFAD, and MathCadd is a plus. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal and people skills. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Working Conditions Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting.   Travel: Minimal: 0 – 5%   Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 25lbs.
