Warehouse Baler

About the Role:

The Warehouse Baler plays a critical role in maintaining an efficient and safe warehouse environment by operating baling machinery to compact recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastic, and other packaging waste. This position ensures that waste materials are processed correctly to optimize storage space and facilitate recycling efforts, contributing to the company’s sustainability goals. The Warehouse Baler collaborates closely with warehouse and logistics teams to manage waste flow and maintain cleanliness and organization within the facility. Attention to safety protocols and machinery maintenance is essential to prevent accidents and ensure continuous operation. Ultimately, this role supports the overall efficiency of warehouse operations by managing waste in a responsible and effective manner.

Hours: M - F 5:00am - 1:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Operate baling machines to compact recyclable materials including cardboard, plastic, and other packaging waste.
• Sort and prepare materials for baling to ensure proper processing and compliance with recycling standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on baling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate waste collection and disposal schedules.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and operational efficiency.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the warehouse supervisor promptly.
• Adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements related to waste handling and machinery operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating industrial machinery or baling equipment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operate machinery safely.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a warehouse or retail trade environment.
• Familiarity with recycling processes and environmental sustainability practices.
• Certification in industrial equipment operation or safety training.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues with baling equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
