Senior Business Analyst

Summary:

MediaNews Group is seeking an Oracle Cloud Financial systems analyst to join the team! This role involves gathering business requirements, functional configuration, leading testing, user training, and ensuring solution adoption and system alignment with business goals. It demands a mix of strategic and hands-on experience to guide solution architecture, manage project delivery, and drive innovation for internal teams. Additionally, this position is responsible for the analysis, modification, and daily functional support of the Oracle ERP Fusion Cloud application, specifically for GL, FA, CM, AP, and Expenses modules. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with finance and accounting teams to understand business requirements and configure them within the Oracle Cloud environment, which may include report development. Strong leadership and in-depth knowledge of these financial modules are essential.

What you will do:

• Partner with finance and accounting teams to gather and document requirements, scope new work, and document Oracle cloud solution designs

• Identify business requirements and map them to Oracle Cloud Functionality

• Identify functionality gaps and define solutions

• Prepare detailed requirement specification documents and functional specification documents

• Configuration of Oracle Cloud financials module to meet requirements

• Consult and participate in Cloud upgrade releases and new projects

• Proactively stay ahead of new system features and functionality to improve business processes and champion change with stakeholders

• Ensure end-user(s) have complete understanding of new capabilities through facilitation of training, documentation, and ongoing availability to ensure full adoption of solution

• Function as a team member or leader on specified projects

• Day to day support related activities to ensure the system is running as expected

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required

• 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting solutions in Oracle Cloud financials modules (GL, FA, CM, AP, and Expenses)

• Experience with OTBI, and BI Publisher

• Knowledge with Oracle AI Agent preferred

• Proficiency in accounting essentials

• Well developed problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to conduct meetings with technical and business teams

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

• First-hand exposure talking to business (users, VPs, and CFOs) and collaborating to meet their needs

• Self-starter that can work independently to achieve results         

Benefits and Compensation:

The salary range is $130,000 - $160,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
