This position controls and monitors freight and inventory levels using the most cost-effective methods. Responsibilities include monitoring and inspection of produce at the dock to ensure quality standards and correct quantity, managing all receiving and inventory adjustments for accuracy and entry into the mainframe, conducting daily physical cycle counts on frozen, cooler, and dry products, slotting and assigning all new items in the warehouse ensuring correctness of information and labeling, keeping the warehouse manager informed of potential problems and changes, notifying customer service of potential outs, completing daily inventory and warehouse reports, managing and directing all physical inventories as per SYGMA guidelines, working closely with all departments regarding merchandise received, new items, and inventories to ensure continuous information flow, adhering to cycle count program, and following HACCP and MSDS guidelines. The role requires a high school diploma/GED (preferably a 4-year college degree in a related discipline), 3 years of inventory control and/or warehouse experience in food distribution, 1 year experience on IBM AS400, and possibly forklift certification. Physical demands include light to medium work with frequent walking, clear communication, prolonged standing during physical inventories, and ability to perform manual tasks. Working conditions include indoor and outdoor activities, exposure to extreme cold in the freezer, and potential hazards such as moving mechanical parts and electrical current. Equipment operated includes calculator, copier, fax, PC, Microsoft Office, telephone, mainframe printer, pallet jack, and forklift. The position is at-will and may require other job-related duties as assigned.
