In the role of Hydraulics Intern, we'll count on you to:
- Conduct structural analyses, evaluations and designs; develop design options or recommendationsÂ
- Complete structural inspections assisting specialized teams using Rope Access, ROV, or Drones.
- Assist with preparing contract documents, including drawings, specifications, design documentation and criteria, and cost estimates.
- Assist with various new and/or rehabilitation of hydraulic structures, including dams, spillways, gates, outlet works, diversion structures, retaining walls, cofferdams, floodwalls, water conveyance structures, foundations, and concrete structures.
- Prepare inspection and design documentation, including critical reports
- Perform engineering assignments that may require critical thinking and creativity to address unique structural elements that have limited or no specific code-based guidance
- Coordinate structural design with multi-disciplinary teamsÂ
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit Mathcad, SAP2000, or similar analytical software, advanced finite element software (LS-DYNA, ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Possess strong interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills and an attitude.
- Design coursework completed in concrete and/or steel
Outdoor activity interests
- Willingness to assist in field assignments
- Structural Certifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
- Attention to detail
- Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
