Job DetailsJob Location: Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center - Denver, CO 80246Salary Range: $40.00 - $47.00 HourlyThis posting is for an 1099 Independent Contractor role, and is not a W-2 Employee position Role and Responsibilities: Normal work hours: varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays Ensuring that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising, and keeping up-to-date on safety and fitness trends Arriving to teach class in advance of the scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address concerns Creating a class experience that shows your unique skills while adhering to the JCC Denver’s standards and guidelines Knowing the names of participants who attend your classes and sharing educational information with your class participants Teaching classes with energy and enthusiasm to motivate class participants to the best of your ability Noting new participants and sharing basic exercise information with them Reporting any equipment/facility problems to the management team Beginning and ending all classes on time Ensuring that class areas are clean and set according to procedures Completing assigned professional trainings and other duties as assigned Qualifications Basic Qualifications Must be certified through ACE, ACSM, or other approved nationally accredited organization Must hold, or obtain as a condition of employment, a valid CPR and First-Aid Certification Ability to work positively with diverse populations, in groups and individually Must be well-organized and prepared to teach classes Must be able to think independently and develop routines for teaching specific exercise classes Preferred Qualifications: Prior successful experience teaching to a fitness/gym population 2+ years teaching experience preferred Physical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance) Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, cope with stress, adapt to and stay alert in a business environment Able to demonstrate exercises relevant to class style, as is frequently required. Must be physically able to walk through the classroom freely in order to demo postures and transitions, monitor students' movements, and provide them with hands-on adjustments as needed and if desired by students. In order to perform the essential duties of the job, the employee must be able to speak, hear, see and walk more than 2 miles each day.
