This role builds and maintains system models, supports study execution, and contributes to engineering deliverables across multiple projects. This position requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work across teams to deliver accurate and reliable outputs aligned with project requirements and engineering standards. Salary Range: $40 – 60/hr The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. Compensation is based on experience and demonstrated impact in similar executive support and operational coordination roles. Key Responsibilities Arc Flash & System Studies Perform arc flash and short circuit studies for renewable plant collection systems and substations Support interpretation of study results and identify potential risks or design considerations Ensure analyses align with applicable standards and project requirements Generate reports, communicate results and findings to engineering and project teams Power System Modeling & Data Integrity Build and maintain power system models in ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, EasyPower and other power system modelling software as applicable. Develop models from one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and supporting input documentation Ensure model inputs, assumptions, and configurations are accurate and aligned with study requirements Maintain up-to-date and accurate model input folders and input tracking tools Tools & Technical Support Assist in developing and modifying scripts, templates, and tools for interconnection and power system studies, including Excel-based tools Support consistency and efficiency in modeling and study workflows May perform reviews of power system models developed by others Provide general technical support to engineering teams as needed Cross-Functional & Study Support Assist other teams based on project needs and workload, including CAD automation and design-related studies such as grounding, ampacity, PVsyst, and SAM Support additional renewable system studies as needed, including reactive power, system losses, interconnection models, harmonics, protection and relay settings, and transient overvoltage (TOV) studies Contribute to broader project deliverables by supporting multidisciplinary engineering efforts Continue developing knowledge across renewable system studies and tools Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant power systems experience 5+ years of experience in power system design, modeling, or analysis, including arc flash and short circuit studies Experience using power system analysis tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, EasyPower, or similar Ability to build and maintain accurate power system models from engineering documentation (e.g., one-line diagrams, cable schedules) Working knowledge of power system fundamentals and applicable industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC) Strong attention to detail and ability to manage technical data, inputs, and documentation accurately Ability to manage multiple assignments and collaborate across engineering teams Preferred: Experience supporting renewable energy and/or substation projects Advanced experience performing arc flash and short circuit studies across complex systems Experience reviewing power system models and study outputs developed by others Familiarity with interconnection studies (PSSe, PSLF, PSCAD) and additional system analyses (e.g., reactive power, system losses, harmonics, protection/relay settings, transient overvoltage) Experience with scripting, automation, or development of engineering tools (e.g., Excel-based tools, templates) Progress toward or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (if not already completed) Work Environment This position is fully remote and may be structured as full-time or part-time for the right candidate, based on experience and organizational needs.
