Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is looking for a Metal Sorter for our Denver Recycling Location in Colorado. In this role you will Transport scrap materials throughout the yard, feed conveyors and other equipment, sort, stack, bundle and stamp materials, and perform other activities to assist process and machine operations.

• Responsible for handling, moving, and disposing of metal/scrap material in a safe manner throughout the scrapyard

• Organize and sort various metal materials following proper processes

• Keep yard area clean, tidy, and organized

• Completing lifting and manual labor tasks in different climates

• Adhere to all appropriate Standard Operating Procedures

• Grease and clean equipment as needed and assist maintenance to keep production equipment operational and functional

• Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations on site

• Notify appropriate personnel of any procedural abnormalities including faulty operation, defective equipment and all other unusual conditions.

• Wear PPE gear at all times including hard hat, safety glasses, and metatarsal boots while on site

• Performs other duties as they might be assigned

Requirements

• No experience necessary but previous work experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar scrapyard environment will be considered an asset.

• A strong work ethic and willingness to be a team player

• Able to meet the physical demands of the position including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting, pushing and pulling.

• Strong communication skills communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and over mobile radio devices.

• Uses time efficiently, works safely, and ensure everyone around them is working safely.

• Strong attention to detail with close visual attention for sustained/long periods of time.

• Safety conscious and orientated

• Comfortable working in all types of variable weather conditions

Compensation

• $22.00 - $25.00 depending on experience

• Opportunity to earn a performance bonus of up to $4000 annually, paid out on a quarterly basis

If you have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn we will train and develop you in a variety of roles. We will provide transportation from the closest transit stop to our site if you do not have reliable transportation.
