SUMMARYĀ Ā 

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.  

 The Senior Scheduling Engineer will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.Ā 

Ā 

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ 

  • Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities  

  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activitiesĀ 

  • Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities complyĀ 

  • Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team  

  • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendentsĀ 

  • Establish and nurture teamwork environmentĀ 

  • Ensure crews have resources and supportĀ 

  • Provide work direction and performance evaluationsĀ 

  • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed  

  • Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunitiesĀ 

  • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project siteĀ 

  • Manage open shop and union issuesĀ 

  • Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site:  customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.Ā 

  • Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvementĀ 

  • Other duties as assignedĀ

QUALIFICATIONSĀ 

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent fieldĀ 

  • Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experienceĀ 

  • Experience as a project engineer is desirableĀ 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skillsĀ 

  • Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedbackĀ 

  • Ability to travel may be required based on operating groupĀ 

  • Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company softwareĀ 

  • Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencingĀ 

  • Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projectsĀ 

  • Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skillsĀ 

  • Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyoutĀ 

  • Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologiesĀ 

  • Strong organization and team skillsĀ 

  • Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedulesĀ 

  • Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniquesĀ 

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environmentĀ 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutionsĀ 

  • Results-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and servicesĀ

The base pay range for this role is $102,000 MIN - $137,700 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Ā

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.Ā  This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Ā
