Job Summary:
The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing facility equipment and machinery to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations. This role includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, supporting facility upkeep, and assisting with the removal of vehicles or equipment from the property as directed by management. The Mechanic plays a critical role in reducing downtime and supporting overall operational effectiveness.

This role includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, supporting facility upkeep, and assisting with the removal of vehicles or equipment from the property as directed by management. The Mechanic plays a critical role in reducing downtime and supporting overall operational effectiveness.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and emergency repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyor systems, dock doors, and other warehouse equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and servicing of mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on warehouse equipment to minimize operational downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and complete necessary repairs.
- Assist in the removal of damaged, inoperable, or out-of-service vehicles and equipment from the property when instructed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and documentation through CMMS or manual logs.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly; report damaged or missing items.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA and company policies.
- Assist with general facility maintenance tasks, including lighting, plumbing, and minor structural repairs.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and operations teams to coordinate maintenance activities.Â
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient mechanical and troubleshooting skills related to warehouse equipment and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and service instructions.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing operational needs.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or trade school training in mechanics or maintenance preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse or industrial maintenance setting.
- Forklift repair experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required; forklift certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to stand, bend, crouch, and work at heights or in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including cold storage and outdoor areas.
- Must be able to safely operate warehouse tools, maintenance equipment, and company vehicles.
