The Scheduling Coordinator performs a variety of administrative and clinical duties to include support of the physician and care team in providing quality medical care to patients. The coordinator acts as a connector for the provider and patient throughout the pre-operative process.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Obtaining referrals/pre-certification of procedures
  • Scheduling required labs, radiology exams, and cardiac workup
  • Confirming clearance and consents are in order
  • Faxing all required documentation (patients consents, clearances, results, H&P., etc.) to the OR, confirming receipt of same
  • Finalizing schedule, arranging any special requirements (ex. equipment needs, verifies schedule with provider and patient, coordinates add-ons, follows proper procedure regarding conflicts)
  • Patient communications while adhering to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • EMR experience, Athena preferred
  • Strong medical terminology knowledge

The compensation range for this position is $20.00/hour– $30.00/hour.

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. 

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
