TEAM, Inc. headquartered in Derby, CT, is a community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome the economic, educational, and health barriers that stand between them and the lives they're working to build. We have nearly tripled in size over the past decade, and we're looking for a new financial leader who has the experiences and drive to take us to the next level. As our CFO, you'll bring strategy, and vision to a complex financial landscape that spans state and federal grants, contracts, and the full range of nonprofit compliance requirements. You'll lead a dedicated accounting team, serve as a key member of our senior leadership team, and be the financial steward of an organization whose work touches the lives of real people in our community every day. This isn't a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. As CFO, your role will be to: Own the full financial engine — budgets, payroll, cash flow, and the general ledger — keeping TEAM compliant, efficient, and positioned to grow. Lead a clean, confident annual audit — because airtight financials are the foundation everything else is built on. Turn numbers into narratives — delivering financial reports, dashboards, and analyses that inform smart decisions across leadership, funders, and the Board. Mentor and lead a team of three — setting the tone for a finance office that's sharp, responsive, and always looking for smarter ways to do things. Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the policies, systems, and internal controls that keep a complex, multi-grant organization always running smoothly and audit ready. Document, safeguard, and succession-plan every critical function on your team, ensuring every role, system, and process outlasts any one person. Identify and lead your team and organization in continuous cost savings to invest back into our mission and people and Oversee IT infrastructure and lead technology initiatives that keep TEAM's systems modern, secure, and scaling alongside the organization – including integrating AI financial systems into your team’s workflow. Steward TEAM's physical assets and 5 facilities — ensuring the spaces where we serve our community are well-maintained, well-managed, and accounted for. Take an active, collaborative, and inclusive seat on the leadership team — we unite, support, and share proactive ideas and point of views that lift-up our mission and the individuals we serve. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred. 8-10+ years in senior financial leadership role – preferably CFO, VP of Finance, Deputy CFO, CAO  Demonstrated experience managing state and federal grants, including compliance with Uniform Guidance Nonprofit financial leadership experience is highly preferred. Proven track record managing organizational budgets in the $20M–$40M range. Experience with nonprofit audit processes and working directly with external auditors. 8-10+ supervisory experience leading an accounting or finance team. Deep working knowledge of GAAP, FASB nonprofit standards, and fund accounting. Expertise with nonprofit accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Blackbaud Financial Edge). IT, technology, and facility experience preferred. Proficiency in financial modeling, programmatic modeling, forecasting, and multi-program cost allocation. Working knowledge of payroll systems and HR-related compliance.
