Position Summary

PICA Product Development is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling mechanical and electro-mechanical products using engineering drawings, work instructions, bills of materials (BOMs), and standard assembly techniques. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical products according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Install hardware including screws, standoffs, rivets, inserts, brackets, cable clamps, and other mechanical components.
  • Perform box-build assemblies, chassis assemblies, and final product integration.
  • Route and secure wire harnesses and cables to meet workmanship standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque drivers, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Verify materials and components against Bills of Materials (BOMs) prior to assembly.
  • Perform visual inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure workmanship meets company and IPC quality standards.
  • Identify and report material shortages, drawing discrepancies, and quality concerns.
  • Complete required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized workstations while following 5S and ESD requirements.
  • Assist with product rework, repairs, and engineering prototype builds as needed.
  • Cross-train in other manufacturing operations to support production demands.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for production documentation.
