BrightPath Human Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Program Supervisor to oversee a one-person specialized residential program. This position is ideal for a strong leader with extensive direct care experience who can provide consistent, person-centered support while guiding staff in maintaining a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment.
The Residential Program Supervisor will provide hands-on support, supervise direct support professionals, coordinate daily program operations, and ensure services are delivered in accordance with the individual’s support plans, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of a one-person specialized residential program.
- Provide direct care and hands-on support as needed.
- Promote the individual’s safety, independence, dignity, and community participation.
- Ensure staff consistently follow the Individual Support Plan, Behavioral Support Plan, medical protocols, and other required plans.
- Supervise, coach, train, and support direct support professionals.
- Develop and maintain a stable, dependable, and well-trained staff team.
- Assist with staff scheduling and ensure appropriate coverage.
- Monitor the quality and timely completion of required documentation.
- Coordinate appointments, activities, transportation, and community outings.
- Recognize changes in the individual’s behavioral, emotional, or medical needs and communicate concerns promptly.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies and follow established crisis intervention procedures.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, medical, and administrative departments.
- Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania Chapter 6400 regulations and all BrightPath Human Services policies and procedures.
- Participate in meetings, training, on-call responsibilities, and other supervisory duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least five years of direct care experience, preferably supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, behavioral challenges, or complex support needs.
- NADSP Frontline Supervisor certification or the ability to obtain the certification within three months of employment.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including accountability, professionalism, sound judgment, dependability, and effective decision-making.
- Ability to lead by example and provide calm, consistent direction during challenging situations.
- Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, leadership, families, and members of the individual’s support team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet organizational driving requirements.
- Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, social work, behavioral health, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a residential or human services setting.
- Experience supporting individuals with significant behavioral or specialized support needs.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania Chapter 6400 regulations, person-centered practices, and trauma-informed care.
