Job DetailsJob Location: Des Moines, IA 50313Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayJob Summary: Ag Express Electronics is seeking a Harness Assembly Technician who will be responsible for fabricating high-quality wire harnesses and cable assemblies from schematics and wiring diagrams. This role requires effective communication skills to enhance cross-functional collaboration among production team members and allow for continuous improvement of harness fabrication processes. This is a pivotal role in ensuring project success through meticulous documentation of work orders and upholding excellent customer service standards. This position is located at our Des Moines, Iowa location. QualificationsKey Responsibilities: Technical Expertise  Perform a wide variety of fabrication processes including wire marking, soldering, crimping, connector termination, and assembly.  Apply sound judgment for reworking or rewiring, ensuring adherence to quality control standards.   Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation, with a dedicated focus on meeting cable assembly requirements.  Continuous Improvement  Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by seamlessly adapting to new or challenging tasks and projects.  Actively seek ways to support team success through the enhancement of fabrication processes and efficiency.  Cross-Functional Collaboration  Communicate accurate information promptly to team members, managers, and customers, playing a key role in efficient communication.  Collaborate effectively with team members to problem-solve and ensure efficient completion of projects.  Work both independently and collaboratively on all assigned duties.  Documentation  Complete accurate documentation of cable assembly builds and work orders, keeping track of order status and overall project success.  Perform other duties as assigned.    Required Skills and Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as part of a team and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary for effective collaboration with coworkers and managers. Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated ability to use good judgment in demanding situations. Knowledge of various wire harness tools is beneficial, including manual and pneumatic tools.  Positive approach to navigating challenges with a solutions-oriented approach, ensuring customer satisfaction.  Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required. Work Experience: Prior experience in wire harness and cabling fabrication preferred. Ability to interpret cable wiring diagrams and schematics is advantageous. Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment and computer applications such as MS 365. Certifications: Preferred; IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) Physical Demands: Manual Dexterity: Ability to manipulate small components, connectors, and wires with precision and accuracy during the assembly and testing of electrical systems.  Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally, the role may involve lifting and carrying equipment, tools, or materials weighing up to a certain limit.  Standing and Walking: Some tasks may require standing and walking around the facility for limited periods of time, such as collaborating with coworkers and testing certain equipment.  Visual Acuity: Good eyesight and visual acuity are important for reading technical diagrams, inspecting electrical components, and identifying small details during the repair and testing process.  Sitting for Extended Periods: Much of the work may be conducted at a desk or workstation, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods  Repetitive Motion: Some tasks, electronic assembly or testing, may involve repetitive motions of the hands, arms, or fingers.
