Responsibilities

As a Chaplain You will:
  • Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families
  • Participate in developing individualized care plans to address spiritual needs
  • Provides direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Serves as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors
  • Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications
  • Attends interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning
  • Offers education and spiritual care guidance to the care team
  • Recruits and supports community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers
  • Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested
  • Organizes periodic memorials for staff, volunteers, and community partners
  • Assists in supervising spiritual care volunteers

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree)
  • Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred
  • Comfort in an interfaith setting
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values
  • Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care
  • Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group
  • Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
