Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Housby is seeking an experienced Body Technician to repair commercial trucks and heavy-duty equipment to established quality, safety, and time standards. This role is central to damage discovery, repair planning, parts readiness, and a smooth handoff to paint. The successful candidate takes ownership of the repair from teardown through body-to-paint release.

EXPECTATIONS:

Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Perform complete vehicle damage assessments (VDA), teardowns, and inspections in accordance with Housby procedures.
  • Identify visible and concealed damage before repairs begin and document findings with clear notes and photographs.
  • Communicate required supplements, additional labor, parts, materials, tools, or sublet operations to the estimator and production foreman.
  • Follow the approved repair plan and applicable manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Perform structural and cosmetic metal repair, panel alignment, test-fitting, cab and component removal and replacement, fiberglass repair, welding, and fabrication within demonstrated qualifications.
  • Measure and verify frame or structural conditions when assigned and qualified.
  • Confirm the required parts, repair information, tools, and materials are available before beginning each repair stage.
  • Accurately record labor time, repair progress, additional damage, and job status each day.
  • Perform technician self-inspections and correct deficiencies before requesting final inspection.
  • Confirm repairs, panel fit, test-fitting, documentation, and required components are complete before releasing a unit to paint.
  • Maintain an organized work area and perform required preventive maintenance on assigned tools and equipment.
  • Maintain at least 95% efficiency and 70% productivity after the established onboarding and training period.
  • Complete VDA before production and immediately report hidden damage or missing parts that could interrupt the repair.
  • Produce safe, accurate work that meets Housby's first-pass quality requirements.
  • Maintain dependable attendance, punctuality, and accurate timekeeping.
  • Must follow the company's safety rules and policies.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year of body-shop or collision-repair experience; heavy-duty vehicle or equipment experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience removing and replacing commercial-vehicle components and repairing metal and fiberglass.
  • Ability to read repair plans, estimates, and manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Welding, fabrication, structural-measurement, or OEM certifications are preferred where applicable.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and demonstrate Housby's Core Values.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Willing to continue education as directed is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Required use of safety glasses, safety footwear, and other assigned personal protective equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a collision-repair environment.
  • Regular exposure to moving equipment, mechanical hazards, fumes, airborne particles, varying temperatures, and moderate-to-very-loud noise.
  • Personal air and hand tools appropriate for the position are required; specialized equipment is provided by Housby.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
