Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations in accordance with clinic policies, protocols, and industry standards.
- Utilize advanced sonographic knowledge to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while adapting exam techniques based on patient anatomy, pathology, and clinical presentation.
- Exercise independent clinical judgment to distinguish normal from abnormal cardiac structures and identify pathological findings during examinations.
- Analyze echocardiographic images, correlate findings with patient history, and communicate pertinent information to cardiologists and referring providers.
- Prepare accurate preliminary reports and promptly communicate urgent or critical findings following established protocols.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and education throughout the imaging process while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality assurance standards to support excellent clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, high-quality cardiovascular care.
- Maintain equipment functionality and adhere to infection prevention and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited cardiac sonography program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a specialty area such as echocardiography and/or vascular diagnostics.
- Current certification/registry in both cardiac and vascular sonography through ARDMS and/or CCI.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license required when operating a vehicle for work-related duties.
