Who are we and what do we do?
Corteva Agriscience intends to separate into two independent companies on or about October 1, 2026; this planned separation is subject to multiple conditions, including final approval of the transaction by its board of directors. It is Corteva’s current intention, should the separation occur, that this position will align with the Seed Company, Vylor, at the time of the intended separation.Â
The Vylor innovation engine will be anchored in the agriculture industry’s most elite germplasm and transformative biotech. The company will leverage its next generation scientific expertise in disciplines like gene editing and molecular breeding to further strengthen its core business while exploring opportunities to expand to new row crops – and potentially beyond. Vylor will scale these innovations using its leading routes-to-market and by significantly expanding its licensing business.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our company at our Johnston, IA, Business Center. Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow!
- Contribute to the mechanical maintenance team by performing building maintenance, preventive maintenance, general troubleshooting, repairs, and projects to control/maintain the environment and working conditions for employees and to control/maintain laboratory conditions required for company research activities.
- Interface as needed with contractors to coordinate projects and vendors/suppliers regarding needed materials and supplies.
- Prioritize and organize work schedule by utilizing PM system reports and work orders. Maintain accuracy, neatness, code requirements and assure jobs are completed in a timely manner.
- Work with shop purchasing coordinator to order necessary materials and supplies.
- Maintain all work on the PM/Work order system.
- Coordinate with supervisor when decision-making questions are needed for job completion.Â
Experience and Education – What you'll bring to the table!
- High school diploma/GED.
- 2 years of trade experience/education in a maintenance related field.
- Proven skills in troubleshooting A/C and refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, and building electric systems.
- Knowledgeable of 110-volt, 220-volt systems, single phase and 3-phase electricity.
- Experience and proven abilities in using computer systems and programs including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting with limited supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid US driver’s license.
- Willing and able to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Solutions focused and experienced in problem solving and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
- Willing and able to work a primarily Monday through Friday daytime schedule and be part of the on-call rotation schedule as needed.Â

What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with boiler / hydronic systems, or you have a Journeyman Plumber License.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems, electrical controls.
- Knowledge of Building Automation systems and CMMS systems.
