Position Summary:

Dee Zee, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Industrial Engineering Intern to support projects that improve manufacturing efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness. This internship will run approximately June 1 through September 3, 2027, with flexibility to adjust the start and end dates based on the selected candidate's availability.

This internship offers hands-on experience with Bills of Materials, labor variance analysis, plant layouts, and process improvements while working in a real-world manufacturing environment.

May involve occasional work in production areas, which can include exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise levels, and fluctuating temperatures.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the creation, review, and updates of Bills of Materials and routings.

  • Support labor variance reporting and analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Contribute to process improvement projects that increase efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Help update and maintain plant layouts, work center data, and material flow documentation.

  • Participate in the Change Order process, supporting documentation and execution.

  • Provide support on special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and production support items.

  • Assist with data mining and report development to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plant layouts, and process documentation.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment exposed to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and variable temperatures.
