BrownWinick is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal to join our growing IP practice group. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional client service in trademark, copyright, and patent matters.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and file patent, trademarks, copyright applications, amendments, renewals, and other related documents with the USPTO and foreign intellectual property offices.
  • Draft and file oath and declarations and recordation documents such as assignments, name changes, mergers, licenses, and security interests.
  • Manage and maintain IP docketing systems, including docketing deadlines for filings, office action responses, renewals, maintenance fees, and annuities.
  • Oversee international filings and prosecution, including PCT, Madrid Protocol, and coordination with foreign associates.
  • Review and promptly report all USPTO and foreign intellectual property office notifications, correspondence, and official actions to clients.
  • Conduct trademark searches and prepare search reports as needed.
  • Communicate directly with clients, inventors, examiners, and foreign associates regarding IP prosecution and portfolio matters.
  • Assist with IP enforcement, oppositions, cancellations, and litigation support.
  • Maintain proficiency with IP management software and electronic filing systems.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of IP paralegal experience (law firm or corporate setting).
  • Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and IP docketing systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with IP management software preferred.
