Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain medical histories, record vital signs, and accurately document information in the electronic health record (Epic)
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other treatments within the LPN scope of practice
  • Provide patient education on medications, chronic disease management, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prescription refills, and continuity of care
  • Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical questions while collaborating with the care team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment while supporting quality patient care

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Iowa
  • Previous clinic, ambulatory, or internal medicine experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records is a plus
  • For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or float to other clinic locations to support patient care and staffing needs
