We know “office manager” can be an often overlooked and underappreciated role in many small businesses. Not here. We consider this role a massive force multiplier and a key component to everything we do. While our 100-person field crew is out keeping the region humming, you’ll own the Des Moines office command center and help us build the future of our team.
The Role (In Plain English): This is absolutely NOT a slow-paced, bureaucratic, corporate gig. We don't have separate departments for every tiny task. We’re looking for a sharp, tech-minded individual who enjoys solving problems, owning projects, and leveraging modern tools to tame chaos and streamline processes. You don't need 15 years of corporate HR experience—you just need to be curious, fun to be around, and enjoy hard work, collaboration, and creating new things.
What You’ll Own
- The People Side: Forget rigid HR. You’ll help design and execute recruiting strategies, onboarding, and crew support (finding solid people, bringing them into the culture, and keeping them taken care of).
- The Command Center: Tame the madness by managing back-office admin, digital files, and vendors (finding smart ways to simplify communication, automate workflows, organize team events, and shape how we operate as we scale).
Keeping It 100%
- Things Move Fast: We’re growing and evolving. If you need every hour of your workday mapped out weeks in advance, the pacing here will drive you crazy.
- You’re the Anchor: The office is your domain. When the field crews are out moving mountains, they’re counting on you to keep headquarters locked down and running smoothly.
- Context Switching is Real: You might go from troubleshooting a software issue to helping a crew member with benefits in the span of five minutes. You have to love shifting gears on the fly.
Real Upside: We’re a stable $10M company with a lean office team. Your impact is visible on Day 1, and your role grows as we grow.
If you’re ready to trade corporate boredom for a place where you can actually build something and be yourself, drop your resume or send us a note.
