FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Housby is looking for Entry Level Diesel Technicians to join our growing Used Parts team. This position is primarily responsible for efficiently and safely dismantling and tearing down heavy-duty trucks and equipment. EXPECTATIONS: 

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Dismantle heavy duty trucks and equipment.
  • Use of torch and hand tools to complete dismantling.
  • Inspect and clean parts after completing parts removal.
  • Maintain equipment by performing inspections and identifying work and/or damaged parts
  • Complete minor vehicle repairs, as needed.
  • Perform tear downs within given timelines.
  • Properly account for tear down times.
  • Use shop provided tools as per intended use. Should a tool be lost or broken, report this to management immediately
  • Must supply tools to make job as efficient as possible
  • Document detailed repairs performed on each repair order via computer.
  • Properly dispose of any fluids.
  • Clean work bay when tear downs are complete.
  • Follow general safety rules for each job and abide by Housby's safety rules and policies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with heavy duty diesel trucks, highly preferred.
  • Previous welding or torch experience is preferred.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • General computer skills.
  • Must follow and have Housby's Core Values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical, vibrations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
  • Works indoors and out. Exposed to outside weather.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to view computer monitor.
  • Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for long periods of time.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Willing to continue education as directed a plus.
