About the Role:
Hot Water Plumbing LLC is looking for a skilled Water Heater Technician to join our growing team in Des Moines, IA! This is a hands-on role where you'll be the expert customers rely on to keep their hot water flowing — from installs to repairs, you'll make a real difference every day.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and replace residential and commercial water heaters including tank and tankless units
- Diagnose water heater issues and perform accurate, efficient troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance, flushing, and inspections on water heating systems
- Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and safety standards
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding service needs, timelines, and pricing
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and manage parts inventory
- Complete service documentation and job reports accurately and on time
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in plumbing or water heater installation and repair
- Familiarity with tank, tankless, gas, electric, and hybrid water heater systems
- Knowledge of local Des Moines/Iowa plumbing codes and safety regulations
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Plumbing license or apprenticeship experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Professional, customer-friendly attitude and strong communication skills
