Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist will operate computerized and manual radiological equipment for orthopaedic diagnostic purposes. The position will act as an ambassador on behalf of the company with customers, clients, and vendors in public.

Skills and/or Qualifications (not limited to):

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. 
  • Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
  • Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposes.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Required High School diploma or GED.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Must obtain and maintain professional certification. 
  • Mandatory reporting in both children and adult.
  • Basic Life Support/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Using proper radiation protection and precautions, prepares and operates radiographic, 
     fluoroscopic, and portable equipment
  • Positions patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures
  • Knowledge of physician protocols for specific studies
  • Complete ABN billing forms for pre-ancillary services to ensure reimbursement
  • Complete studies for pre-screening safety measures for ancillary services
  • Research and obtain external images for upcoming surgical procedures
  • Process imaging requests for patient referrals to external facilities
  • Maintains computerized records, files, and/or reports
  • Participates in quality control and quality assurance studies
  • Maintain compliance by submission of radiation badges to Landauer Dosimeter Company for monthly radiation read
  • Performs daily quality checks on the Xray machine to guarantee proper operation and safety
  •  Reports issues/malfunctions to Clinical Supervisor and contacts servicing company for assistance
  • Yearly shield checks for safety of staff and patients. Reports any concerns to the Clinical Supervisor
  • Regular in office attendance is required
  • Other duties as assigned
