Missouri Baptist Medical Center continually ranks among the top hospitals in the nation.  We are looking for a Mid-level provider who oversees the Cardiology Stress Lab (does not perform treadmill stress tests) and provides cross-support for cardiac data initiatives and occasional cath lab mid-level duties

 

Position Details:

  • Primarily outpatient/ambulatory with limited cross-coverage: occasional mid-level support for the cardiac cath lab procedural/inpatient area as needed
  • Schedule: 7am-3:30pm (36 hour per pay period, delivered as nine 8-hour shifts)
  • No Weekends!  No Call! No Holidays! 
  • Responsibilities: Serve as the on-site mid-level contact for stress-testing nursing staff
  • Strongly Preferred:  Cardiac background & experience overseeing stress testing
  • Preferred: Experienced APP's

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. 

 

Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. The Missouri Baptist Medical Center Cardiac Testing department is a diagnostic testing center which focuses on identifying and evaluating cardiac disease processes. The department is comprised of RNs, cardiac sonographers, ECG techs, Nuclear Medicine technologists and administrative staff. The Cardiac Testing staff works in collaboration with Cardiologists to deliver high quality services to patients and their physicians.

Role Purpose

The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse who utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care area. This position assesses, diagnose, prescribes, initiates plan of care and evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s).

 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in professional development
  • Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician.
  • Coordinates the care of patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.
  • Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.
  • Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
