JOB IDENTIFICATION Job Title: Youth Gymnastics Instructor (Ages 6-13) Grade: II FLSA: Non-Exempt Department: Recreation SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Athletics and Facilities Manager BASIC FUNCTION The Youth Gymnastics Instructor will develop, plan, coordinate activities, instruct and evaluate the 6-13 year old gymnastic program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for planning, supervision and safety of the program and activities for the children that meet the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of both the individual and the group. Demonstrates knowledge of gymnastics and the ability to assess and assist children’s progress. Track attendance of athletes. Work with other staff efficiently. Maintain equipment provided to participants and ensure it is being used correctly. Communicate any medical or behavior issues with Athletic Manager and Parents. Provide First Aid when necessary. Ensure the safety of all participants throughout all practices and games. Submit accident and incident reports to supervisor completely and promptly. OTHER DUTIES Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual. Direct participants in the event of an emergency, such as fire, severe weather Communicate with Athletic Manager regarding any equipment needing repair or replacement Additional duties as assigned POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School student or of higher education. Experience: Must be at least 16 years of age or older A minimum of 2 years of gymnastics experience; competing or teaching.
