Job DetailsJob Location: Deshler NE Facility Corporate Headquarters - Deshler, NE 68340General Purpose of Position The purpose of the Material Handler position is to unload/load; transport; stage and deliver raw materials, work in process materials, and finished products to assigned locations both inside and outside various buildings.  This is accomplished with material handling equipment including forklifts and may also at times involve the use of industrial cranes.     Essential Functions  Must be able to run a forklift and secure a forklift license if required. Must perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and in a manner that makes the most efficient use of time.  Must also be willing to work in assignments outside of material handling during periods of decreased production/idle time. Must be able to make accurate transactions of material movements on computer or handheld terminals. Must be able to use hand and power tools correctly by assignment. Must be familiar and cognizant of safety guidelines throughout the company. Must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record. Must have good organizational skills. Must be able to read and interpret stacking lists, load listings, bills of lading and other standard operating procedures. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with other departments, professional staff and management of the company. Must be able to work with limited supervision and show/demonstrate initiative, tact, good judgement and sound reasoning. Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position. Must have neat and legible handwriting. Will perform other related duties as directed by supervision.   Describe Critical Skills, Experience, Training, Education, or Licenses Required These positions require the ability to learn and practice the proper operation of material handling equipment.  The position also requires the ability to learn and identify the various materials used to manufacture and sell company products.  Forklift licenses for this position are a company requirement.   Machines, Tools, Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment Used Requires use of forklifts and large industrial cranes up to 30 tons.  May be required to operate a handheld or stationary computer terminal for material movement transactions.  Requires use of safety eyewear with side shields, safety footwear, gloves, hearing protection as needed, and hard hats as required.
