About the Role:

The Production Foreman plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the production facility, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This is a working foreman position, meaning the individual will actively participate in production activities alongside the team while also providing leadership and direction on the floor.

This role is responsible for leading and developing a team of production employees, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. The Production Foreman will lead by example—demonstrating strong work ethic, accountability, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.

In addition, the Production Foreman will support the implementation of continuous improvement practices to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall plant performance. This position will also partner closely with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

This role is designed as a key development position within MKB, with the opportunity to progress into Assistant Plant Manager and ultimately Plant Manager roles for high-performing individuals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in manufacturing or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Willingness and ability to work hands-on in production, including physical labor in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, industrial management, or a related field
  • Experience in construction materials, erosion control products, geotextiles, or similar industrial manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with plant maintenance practices and continuous improvement / lean manufacturing principles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Work alongside production employees to support output, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures; actively promote a strong safety culture
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput
  • Partner with maintenance to schedule and oversee equipment repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Monitor production metrics and adjust staffing or workflow as needed to meet targets
  • Support plant leadership with reporting, scheduling, and operational planning to build readiness for future leadership roles
