Position Summary

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or LPC Associate provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. The clinician will complete assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based counseling services, and collaborate with clients and community partners to promote recovery and improve quality of life.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and clinical evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, safety planning, and stabilization services when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment approaches as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, primary care providers, schools, and other community agencies to coordinate care.
  • Educate clients and families on coping strategies, symptom management, and available community resources.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Adhere to ethical standards, HIPAA regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Provide community-based services and travel within the assigned service area as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related behavioral health field.
  • Current Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC Associate) license in good standing.
  • Ability to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic services independently or under required supervision.
  • Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and documentation abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance for community-based services.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or families.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented treatment approaches.
  • Experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, or other evidence-based practices.
  • Experience providing Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), Adult Mental Health (AMH), or community mental health services.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
