We are looking to add Certified Clinical/Registered Medical Assistant's for both administrative and clinical tasks to support physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff in our busy Rheumatology department in Destin. The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) plays a vital role in supporting providers and delivering high-quality patient care in a rheumatology clinic. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations, procedures, treatments, patient education, and administrative tasks. The CCMA serves as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, ensuring a positive patient experience while promoting efficient clinic operations. Patient Care Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints. Room patients efficiently and ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures. Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed and within scope of practice. Monitor patients receiving injections and report adverse reactions promptly. Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, disease processes, and follow-up care instructions. Rheumatology-Specific Responsibilities Coordinate laboratory testing, imaging studies, and specialty referrals. Support biologic and injectable medication programs, including patient education and monitoring. Assist with infusion scheduling and coordination, as applicable. Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with rheumatology treatment protocols. Administrative Duties Manage patient phone calls, messages, prescription refill requests, and provider communications. Prioritize and respond to patient concerns in a professional and timely manner. Assist with prior authorizations for medications, imaging studies, and specialty treatments. Schedule follow-up appointments, laboratory visits, and procedures. Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with clinic policies and HIPAA regulations. Maintain knowledge of current rheumatology practices, medications, and treatment guidelines. Preferred experience: Experience in Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Specialty Care. Experience with biologic therapies, injections, infusion services and prior authorizations BLS/CPR Certification.
