Service Room Technician

Full time – hourly

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package.  The base hiring pay for this role is $20.50 per hour. 

  • Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions) 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Load poults on conveyer for servicing
  • Confirm box number and flock numbers match
  • Careful handling of poults and attention to poult density
  • Stack Poult filled boxes
  • Transfer to holding room
  • Understand and meet the hatchery sanitation/biosecurity policies and procedures
  • Perform all required equipment and work area clean up
  • Occasional work on Saturdays or Holidays
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Ability to work a 10 to 12 hour shift
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to grasp and pinch repeatedly with both hands, hand coordination to rotate wrists and manipulate poults with fingers and thumb of both hands
  • Be able to work in a moderately dusty environment continuously
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
