POSITION SUMMARY  The ACCESS Supervisor coordinates, develops, and oversees the daily operations of the Access Department to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality access to behavioral health services. In collaboration with the Access Manager, this position provides direct supervision and operational leadership to the Access Specialist team while supporting the implementation of departmental initiatives, referral pathways, and standardized workflows across multiple behavioral health locations. The Access Supervisor is responsible for monitoring workflow performance, supporting staff development, promoting quality improvement, and ensuring consistency in referral management, registration, scheduling, and hospital discharge coordination. This position serves as a key operational resource for staff and collaborates with clinical programs and organizational leadership to improve access to care, enhance operational efficiency, and support the continued growth of the Access Department.  Qualifications ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to the Access Specialist team. Coordinate daily workflow to ensure efficient referral management, registration, scheduling, and hospital discharge coordination. Monitor departmental productivity, scheduling accuracy, workflow efficiency, and quality standards. Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development of Access Specialists. Support the implementation of departmental initiatives, workflow improvements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve access, efficiency, and customer service. Collaborate with clinical programs and agency leadership to coordinate referral processes and improve access to care. Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and address performance concerns in collaboration with the Access Manager. Monitor performance metrics and assist with quality improvement initiatives. Provide operational support for staffing coverage and daily departmental needs. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. Travel between agency locations as needed to provide operational oversight, staff support, training, and workflow management. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of Community Mental Health (CMH), Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), and behavioral health access systems. Knowledge of referral management, intake, registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and hospital discharge workflows. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, payer, and agency regulations related to behavioral health access and client services. Strong leadership, supervisory, coaching, and staff development skills. Ability to develop, implement, and improve operational workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and support quality improvement initiatives. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels. Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and initiative. Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities while maintaining professionalism and accountability. EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. EXPERIENCE Minimum of three (3) years of experience in behavioral health, healthcare operations, access services, intake, care coordination, scheduling, or a related field. Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience. Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with referral management, intake, registration, scheduling, insurance verification, or hospital discharge workflows. Experience working within a Community Mental Health (CMH) and/or Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) environment preferred. Experience with quality improvement and workflow redesign initiatives preferred. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for day-to-day job performance. Ability to travel between multiple agency locations throughout the workweek to provide operational support and oversight.
