Position Overview
ROOST Detroit is seeking a polished, organized, and hospitality-driven Assistant Front Office Manager to support daily front office operations and help lead the guest services team.
Working closely with Front Office leadership, this position plays an integral role in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations while maintaining the elevated, personalized service that defines the ROOST experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys being present with both guests and team members, communicates with confidence, and remains composed in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support the daily operation of the Front Office and ensure a seamless guest experience from arrival through departure.

Lead, support, and provide direction to Front Desk and Guest Service team members during assigned shifts.

Maintain a strong presence in the lobby and front-of-house areas, engaging with guests and anticipating their needs.

Oversee check-ins, check-outs, reservations, guest communications, and special requests.

Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and development of Front Office team members.

Ensure ROOST service standards, operating procedures, and brand expectations are consistently upheld.

Handle guest concerns and service recovery situations with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment.

Collaborate closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Property Leadership to ensure strong communication and seamless operations.

Maintain accurate shift reports, guest records, billing information, and operational documentation.

Monitor the presentation of the lobby, front desk, and public spaces to ensure they remain organized, polished, and guest-ready.

Assist Front Office leadership with scheduling, staffing needs, inventory, and administrative responsibilities.

Communicate important guest information, operational updates, and follow-up items between shifts and departments.

Support VIP arrivals, extended-stay guests, special occasions, and other personalized guest experiences.

Serve as a leader on property when senior Front Office leadership is unavailable.

Assist with additional operational projects and property initiatives as needed.
Qualifications

1–2 years of hotel Front Office, Front Desk, Concierge, or Guest Services experience required.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.

Experience within boutique, lifestyle, luxury, or residential hospitality is a plus.

Warm, polished, and genuinely guest-focused approach to hospitality.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and motivate a team.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to resolve guest concerns professionally and confidently.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable using hotel PMS, reservation systems, and other front-office technology.

Working Conditions/Environment:
- The person having this position may have to stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day.
