Position Summary

Perform the financial affairs of Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America Inc.  in an efficient way by supporting economic objectives and policies as determined by the Corporate Controller and Director of Accounting Mfg Group.  Prepare monthly subsidiary statements and assist in the preparation of financial analyses of operations to assist management in making strategic decisions.

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Prepare monthly sales reports in comparison to business plan for accounting colleagues and management review.
•    Measure and record sales adjustments related to foreign currency transactions in comparison to budgeted standard exchange rates
•    Review sales orders and exception reports for discrepancies; correct as needed
•    Manually invoice parent company for miscellaneous charges as requested
•    Manage fixed asset system to include analysis of additions, disposals, depreciations, acquisitions, and fixed asset form monitoring
•    Develop, maintain, and analyze project budgets, preparing weekly reports
•    Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and reports for accuracy and conformance.
•    Gathers costs and assist in the preparation of invoices
•    Liaison between company, parent company, and vendors for purchase orders and payments
•    Analyzes and understands Technical Service Agreements for service vendors
•    Assist with the maintenance of J-Sox documentation
•    Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area.
•    5 + years of experience in an accounting function (automotive industry experience is a plus)
•    Proficiency in standard accounting methods and practices, emphasizing auditing and tax standards.
•    Solid written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing quantitative and mathematical skills.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, ability to create/modify pivot tables and V-lookups in Excel
•    Experience with JD Edwards distribution software is a plus
