Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support daily inventory control, material movement, and warehouse coordination in a food manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role ensures inventory accuracy, proper material handling, and strong collaboration with production, procurement, quality, and warehouse teams to support efficient supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, packaging, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods

• Conduct cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies

• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and FIFO/FEFO rotation to maintain quality and food safety compliance

• Collaborate with production, warehouse, procurement, sales, and QA teams to reconcile material usage, support order fulfillment, and optimize workflow

• Utilize the Canopy ERP/MRP system to process inventory transactions and generate reports for planning and forecasting

• Monitor expiration dates and manage slow-moving or obsolete inventory

• Identify and support process improvements and best practices in inventory control

• Maintain compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and other regulatory and food safety standards

• Support audits and inspections by providing accurate documentation and inventory data

• Accurately weigh and issue ingredients to operations and pull requisitions according to formulas and production schedules

• Maintain warehouse organization, safety, equipment condition, and adherence to company procedures

• Operate powered material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks

• Work collaboratively across departments to ensure activities are properly integrated

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in inventory control and warehousing

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate data and make data-driven decisions

• Ability to independently manage projects and ensure follow-through and completion

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams

• Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure

• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to occasionally work weekends

• A CDL Class B driver’s license is a strong plus

• Occasional physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs., bending to waist level, climbing stairs, and reaching above head level

Schedule

• 9–10-hour shifts

• Day shift, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend availability as needed
