All Well-Being Services (AWBS) is a CARF-accredited non-profit organization that has proudly served Southeast Michigan for over 70 years. AWBS offers comprehensive, person-centered services for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual developmental disabilities. Our services include assessment and evaluation, individual and group therapy, case management, skill-building, recovery support and more. Position Summary
The Job Coach provides direct support and guidance to individuals experiencing employment-related obstacles, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the workplace. This role involves on-site coaching, job readiness training, transportation, and collaboration with employers to ensure successful job placement and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist members in identifying appropriate job opportunities based on their skills and interests.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to support job performance and integration.
- Transport members safely to and from work sites, following posted speed limits and all traffic laws.
- Develop and implement individualized employment goals.
- Build relationships with community employers and advocate for inclusive hiring practices.
- Monitor job performance and adapt coaching strategies as needed.
- Provide regular documentation and reporting in accordance with organizational and funding requirements.
- Collaborate with case managers, vocational rehab specialists, and families/support systems.
- Educate members on workplace expectations, safety, communication, and problem-solving.
- Attend team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- This position requires availability for holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in human services, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities or employment barriers.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver’s license and endorsements.
- Proficiency in basic computer use and documentation systems.
Physical Demands
· Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
· Ability to work for the duration of assigned shifts.
