Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Lead Inspector for 1st Shift to join our team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional, and take ownership of their responsibilities. This position requires the ability and willingness to travel between multiple inspection locations as needed.
The Lead Inspector will support quality inspection operations throughout the Detroit area, with regular coverage needed in Auburn Hills, Warren, St. Clair Shores, and Troy. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between these locations to meet operational needs. The role plays an important part in maintaining product quality and supporting inspection teams across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect raw materials and finished products visually and using gauges, scales, or other measurement tools.
  • Audit production practices and processes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming parts or materials.
  • Complete all required inspection documentation accurately and on time.
  • Enter inspection results into company databases.
  • Perform final inspections and reconcile outgoing shipments as required.
  • Assist in identifying causes of non-conformance and communicating findings.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
  • Willingness and ability to learn the use of basic measurement tools (tape measure, scales, gauges).
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience using measurement instruments.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or inspection role.
