At Oakland International Academy, we are committed to providing every child with a supportive, engaging, and inspiring learning experience. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher who is passionate about helping students achieve academic success. 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with Michigan standards and students's IEPs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student learning and growth
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and use assessment data to guide instruction. 
  • Develop, implement, and participate in IEP meetings while ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements 
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success. 
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and development. 



Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. 
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with with one or more of the following Special Education endorsements: SA, SB, SC, SE, SK, SL, SM, SP, or SV. 
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance 
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
