Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with Michigan standards and students's IEPs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student learning and growth
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments and provide meaningful feedback.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and use assessment data to guide instruction.
- Develop, implement, and participate in IEP meetings while ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and development.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with with one or more of the following Special Education endorsements: SA, SB, SC, SE, SK, SL, SM, SP, or SV.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
