As an Interior Design Intern at Pophouse, you will join our creative team to assist with both small- and large-scale projects to gain professional experience and hands-on knowledge and mentorship. Whether assisting with material sampling and palette, conceptual design packages, space planning, or participating in design charrettes, you will work as a fully collaborative member of our design team. Pophouse is looking for someone who is eager to learn and self-motivated. We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented team members to aid throughout the entire design process and work alongside our designers and partners.

About the Role

  • Assist design team throughout entire design process
  • Conduct programming efforts, space planning, furniture layouts, material, lighting, and accessory selection, finish coordination, and drawing documentation
  • Model and render conceptual, schematic, and design development stages of projects
  • Create design presentations in coordination with designers and design leadership
  • Communicate with vendors and manufacturers and attend vendor product updates
  • Collaborate with designers and leaders in brainstorm sessions, design briefs, and team projects
  • Assist within Materials Library

About You

  • Ability to efficiently manage and set priorities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Interior Design or a related program, CIDA accredited program highly preferred
  • Completion of your third year of an undergraduate program or first year of a graduate program
  • Submission of an online portfolio that demonstrates design process and innovative design solutions (PDF format, 4-6 work samples)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required, Revit and/or BIM modeling software a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • 3D computer modeling and rendering skills (SketchUp, Enscape, D5, Lumion, 3Ds Max, and/or other modeling and rendering software)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Hand sketching ability
