Description


Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some on call

  

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The RN is an exempt position. 

2. Provide staff training and coaching necessary to assure identified health services and supports are implemented consistently and correctly. Teach CPR/First Aid/AED classes. Complete observations of medication administration for staff. Teach new hire orientation on typical medical practices. 

3. Perform annual physical examinations of individuals served. Review medical files of people to assure compliance with all health related regulations and CQL Outcomes. 

4. Complete follow-up/review GERs  related to medical incidences, including examination of bruises/injuries of unknown origin. 

5. Oversee and ensure timely medication refills by coordinating with med assistants and pharmacy partners.

6. Review and update monthly Medication Administration Records (MARS). 

7. Provide in coordination with Program Coordinators a comprehensive system for review, documentation, and follow-up of psychiatric appointments and psychotropic medication usage. Attend medication review meetings monthly. 

8. Conduct AIMS testing.

9. Provide routine nail care. 

10. Act as a liaison with community medical personnel and other service providers to assure continuity of care and promote public relations. Assist people to medical appointments and follow recommendations received at medical appointments. 

11. Attend meetings, in-services, and workshops as appropriate and approved. 

12. Serves as a member of the LRC Management Team, Quality Management Committee, and on other committees as assigned. 

13. Participate as On-Call Staff within the system utilized. Attend meetings, in-services, and workshops as appropriate and assigned. 

Requirements

       Essential Requirements:

A. Graduate from a state approved school of nursing.

B. Current North Dakota license to practice as a Registered Nurse.

C. Valid driver’s license required.

D. Capable to perform CPR, AED, First Aid and implement Therapeutic Responses/Therapeutic Intervention Techniques.

G. Capable to operate a computer, software programs, and all office equipment.

E. Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and lift 10 lbs. overhead.

F. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat frequently.
