Activities Aide
Department: Long Term Care FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Activity Coordinator
Position Summary Assist the Activity Coordinator in providing activities programs for all residents, responsible for helping with physical, educational, or social activities in a variety of settings. Duties will revolve around assisting residents or patients with use of equipment, and planning and monitoring their participation in various activities and outings.
Essential Functions
â–ªAssists the Activity Coordinator in the planning, development, and implementation of activities/programs which enrich the lives of the residents.
â–ªDevelop and lead small, medium and large group activities.
â–ªContribute to residents' care planning: assessments, care plan goals and approaches, and progress notes.
â–ªAssist with documentation.
â–ªConduct one-to-one programs.
â–ªAssist with field trips and outings, which may require the operation of a company vehicle.
â–ªOther duties may be assigned.
Qualifications/Education
â–ªHigh School Diploma or GED
â–ªTo obtain CPR and First Aid Certificates within 6 months of employment
â–ªCurrent driver's license (must be 21 years of age due to CCMSD insurance policy stipulations)
â–ªTo obtain WY CNA License to obtain within 6 months of employment
Experience
â–ªPrevious experience in a long term care setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
â–ªExcellent patient care skills.
â–ªProfessional and discrete manner at all times.
â–ªAbility to communicate effectively and verbally as well as the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
â–ªAbility to work independently and with supervision.
â–ªGood driving record and ability to drive safely in various weather conditions.
Hours of Work
40 hours per week, rotating holidays, every other weekend
