About the Role
Looking Glass Brewing Co is seeking a motivated Assistant Brewer to join our production team in DeWitt, Michigan. This position supports all aspects of brewery operations, including brewing, cellar work, packaging, cleaning, quality control, and general production tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, physically capable, and excited to grow in the craft brewing industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with brewing operations, including milling grain, mashing, lautering, boiling, and wort transfers.
- Perform cellar duties such as fermentation monitoring, dry hopping, yeast handling, tank transfers, and carbonation.
- Support packaging operations including kegging, canning, labeling, and inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary brewery environment by following all cleaning and sanitation procedures.
- Record production data and assist with quality control checks.
- Help receive and organize raw materials and brewery supplies.
- Operate brewery equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with the brewing team to ensure consistent beer quality and efficient production.

Qualifications Required
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Comfort working around wet floors, hot liquids, cleaning chemicals, and production equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime as production needs require.

- Prior brewing, beverage production and/or cellar experienceÂ
- Knowledge of brewing processes and sanitation practices.
- Passion for craft beer and continuous learning.

- Lift and move up to 55 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Work in varying temperatures and production conditions.
